Training for Educational / External Visits Co-ordinators (EVC's)
In line with DfE guidance, schools and services providing for young people have been asked to identify an experienced senior member of staff to take on the role of EVC. This one-day course is designed to train new EVCs (and other staff who assist or support the EVC) and ensure they have the knowledge and resources to carry out the role effectively. Visit Leader Training We provide Visit Leader training courses for staff leading and supporting educational visits. These courses follow the framework devised by the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel (OEAP), and cover the planning and leadership of off-site educational visits, outdoor learning and adventurous activities. This three-hour course can alternatively be broken down and presented as two "twilight" sessions on school site if required. First Aid for Group Leaders - Immediate Temporary Care (ITC) (2 Days) This HSE approved two day course provides training for group leaders needing a more detailed knowledge of first aid. It meets the requirements of most National Governing Bodies providing Outdoor Activity qualifications. Training for Management of Visit Emergencies (MoVE) This training course is for senior managers in schols and other services who would lead their establishment's response if an emergency occurs on an educational visit. This course is not intended for staff leading visits (we offer Visit Leader Training for this purpose). The MoVE training programme in Oldham follows a nationally agreed programme, devised by the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel. Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS)
The training course is designed to: raise driver & staff awareness of their responsibilities toward their passengers & public; clarify the legal and practical differences between driving a minibus and a car; enhance passenger safety & driver confidence. Theory courses last 3 hours and can be held at Castleshaw Centre or on your school site if you have a group to be trained. |
