Booking a visit
Non - Oldham schools and other organisations
Please contact the Castleshaw Centre either by phone or e-mail to discuss your requirements.
Once a programme has been agreed, a quotation and booking form will be e-mailed to the group leader.
Oldham Schools
Oldham LA controlled schools can enter into a Service Level Agreement to take advantage of a package of Outdoor and Environmental Education services. Services may also be booked individually. Contact the centre for further details.
Local Academies can also enter into similar Service Level Agreements.
Each year schools receive a letter reminding them to make bookings for the following academic year. To avoid missing out, schools should make bookings when they get the reminder.
Bookings for activities should be made a term in advance, though short notice bookings are sometimes possible.
Course Planning
Courses at the centre extend curriculum opportunities for schools and introduce opportunities for development and learning, by providing new experiences which may not be available to some young people. These courses can either be residential or day visits, and this is normally a decision taken by the school staff.
It is possible to design individual courses, but generally it is best to choose topics which make the most of the local environment. (for example, Roman history would be better than Egyptian history!)
